This course does a better job in the marketing department than it does in the classroom. I've checked their webpage and they have started three more cohorts since ours began in december. I feel as though i'm paying an extraordinary amount of money just to use lots of resources i already have access to. Overall, i'm very disappointed in the course. There are no alumni or working groups to reach out to in the industry, you're on your own here. My class is the first cohort and we wont be graduating until October.

Otherwise admins encourage you to use online forums, which are already free and easily accessible. There are weekly zoom group office hours with TA's, you might get to ask a question or two and you may or may not get an answer. Sometimes faculty get back to you within a day, sometimes within a few days and sometimes not for almost a week. Their framework is a good guide to use as to what topics are relevant for a new developer and what skills are important to learn.įor academic support, there is a questions and answers forum that the faculty use to try and assist students during the week. In terms of course structure, their weekly lessons cover a wide variety of front end and back end concepts, just not in great detail. When it comes to course content, their brochure teeters on the brink of false advertising. Also, the course doesn't have a textbook or weekly study guide, they simply refer you to online articles about various topics that you already have access to for free. Free online resources do a 10x better job than this course at conveying different programming concepts, use them. I do most of my learning by way of free tutorials on youtube or Udemy and only using this course to check the boxes. Realistically there is about 30-45 minutes of video lectures per week, which cover a wide range of topics. But that absolutely NOT the amount of content put forth by the course. The brochure advertises 15-20 hours commitments per week, which is about how much I spend study related topics. As for the course content, meaning the actual materials taught throughout the course, i'm giving this course a very poor rating. The course covers JavaScript, with little to no emphasis on HTML/CSS or design concepts. Ratings below reflect general feelings towards course structure as compared to other online courses i've taken. I'm currently enrolled in this course and have almost completed the first trimester of modules, here is my interpretation of the course as a whole.
